(MIAMI, FL, 12/6/17) - The Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-Florida), the state's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization, today welcomed  a 30 year sentence imposed on Michael Wolfe for Criminal Mischief to a Place of Worship with a Hate Crime enhancement committed at the Islamic Society of Central Florida Masjid Al-Munin Mosque in Titusville, Florida. Wolfe will serve fifteen years jail sentence followed by fifteen years on probation.

In a statement, CAIR-Florida Communications Director Wilfredo A. Ruiz said:
"The Florida Muslim Community is suffering an unprecedented number of hate crimes. Multiple Mosques and Islamic institutions have been broken into, vandalized, and even set on fire. These criminal aggressions against American places of worship out of hate present a threat to the American community of believers. Our Mosques, Churches, Synagogues, and all of our American centers of worship need to be protected to the utmost extent. Those who chose to desecrate them need to go to prison, away from the worshiping families."
