Majda Rahmanovic recently moved from Hawaii and joined CAIR-FL. She was born in Mostar, Bosnia-Herzegovina. Due to the civil unrest in Bosnia, her family came to Milwaukee, WI, where she finished her high school education.

Majda moved to Chicago, Illinois and received her BA from Lake Forest College in Religious Studies and History. She became involved with local interfaith and religiously-oriented groups such as the President of the Lake Forest MSA group.

After graduating from Lake Forest College, Majda moved to Hawaii to pursue her MA from the University of Hawaii at Manoa. She received her MA in Religious Studies with an emphasis on East Asian Religions, particularly in China. Majda's research focuses on the rights of minority groups in China, especially the Hui and female religious leaders who have assisted in the growth of Islam in China. During her time in Hawaii, Majda became an active member of the local masjid and the Islamic Society of the University of Hawaii.

Majda looks forward to educating the community about Islam and helping people achieve justice.
