(Miami, FL, 1/12/16) - The Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR Florida) announced today that they have reported a threat posted on Facebook under the name of David L. Rosenthal. The threatening Facebook post read: "Someone remind me of why I should not burn every mosque in my geographical area. Oh right, I remember now... Let me think about it."
CAIR Florida reported this serious matter to local and federal law enforcement agencies who are actively investigating the report. CAIR Florida communications director, Wilfredo A. Ruiz stated:
"Our community has zero tolerance for any kind of threat communicated in any form. It does not matter if it is a threat to a center of worship, a school, or a home. We are taking no chance and immediately reporting not only to our local law enforcement agencies but also getting the federal law enforcement involved. A threat to burn down mosques is a blunt hate crime; and should be investigated and eventually prosecuted as such."
Rosenthal is a known islamophobe and frequently participates in rallies slandering Islam and bashing Muslims in America. Rosenthal has expressed publicly: "I hate Islam. Islam is evil. Ideally, I would ban Islam in the United States." To carry his hate agenda, Rosenthal participates as an active member of the anti-Muslim hate group 'Americans Against Hate', a hate group founded and run by Joe Kaufman. Kaufman is a defeated Republican congressional candidate who has promoted the views of the terrorist organizations "Kach" and "Kahane Chai" and praised the "Kahane" terror group and its founder Mier Kahane on a forum of the radical "Jewish Defense League" in Florida. "The Jewish Defense League" has been designated as a hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Center.
