(TAMPA, FL, 8/11/2016) - The Florida chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations(CAIR-Florida), the state's largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization, today announced the statewide release of a survey on bullying targeting Muslim students.
The survey seeks to shed light on Muslims being victimized for their race, religion or national origin.
Thania Clevenger, CAIR-FL's civil rights director, stated: "This type of bullying happens from students and, unbelievably, from teachers. If you've ever been a victim of discrimination because of your race, religion or national origin, take the time to fill out our survey monkey. It's important to have your input so we can start this hard conversation."
The survey is online for students from elementary to high school level.
CAIR-Florida will be promoting the bullying survey by releasing the video, "Has This Ever Happened to You?" The video educates students about how to take action against bullying.
Also, CAIR-FL will be distributing printed materials on bullying throughout the state and will visit schools personally to advocate the bullying survey.
