(Miami, FL, 9/22/2016) – The Council on American-Islamic Relations – Florida (CAIR-Florida), the state’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization, today announced that Parkland’s Congregation Kol Tikvah in Parkland under the leadership of Rabbi Bradd Boxman, has joined an interfaith coalition to help rebuild the Islamic Center of Fort Pierce (ICFP).

ICFP was recently set afire by an arson and their Mosque and adjoining buildings suffered extensive damage. The perpetrator has been arrested and is facing several charges by local authorities and the FBI.

Since the fire, several religious groups have offered their services to the Fort Pierce Mosque. Some communities have already contributed directly while others are currently developing a broader interfaith alliance to coordinate their financial and human and material resources in these horrific events. CAIR-Florida applauds and welcomes right-thinking people of all faiths to help others in harmony and mutual respect who are in need of assistance.

“In the past years, Rabbi Boxman has been instrumental in coordinating beautiful and respectful relations among the Jewish and Muslim communities. He certainly helps bringing faith into action and that’s the most admirable way to live our faiths” said Wilfredo Amr Ruiz, CAIR-Florida’s Communication Director.

CAIR-Florida is the state’s largest Muslim civil liberties and advocacy organization. Its mission is to enhance the understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties of all people, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.

La misión de CAIR-Florida es mejorar la comprensión del Islam, fomentar el diálogo, proteger las libertades civiles, capacitar a los musulmanes estadounidenses, y construir coaliciones que promuevan la justicia y la comprensión mutua.
